# Licenses

1. When selecting the “**Licenses**” resource type, the system will request the following additional information:

### Properties

* **Contract**: Select the contract option related to the license.
* **Description**: Enter a brief description of the resource being registered.
* **Acquisition type**: Specify how the resource was acquired—**purchase, lease, or colocation**.
* **Will this resource replace another one**? Select **Yes** or **No**.

### Financial Information

* **Resource value**: Enter the value corresponding to the license being registered.
* **Unit cost/month**: Not applicable.
* **Start date**: Enter the start date of the license’s validity period.
* **End date**: Enter the end date of the license’s validity period.
* **Quantity:** Enter the number of units for the license being registered.
* **Monthly depreciation**: The monthly depreciation percentage will be filled in automatically.

### Technical Information

* **User**: Enter the user associated with the license.

Finally, by clicking the **Save** button, the system will store the registered resource in the Data Center and return to the main resources screen.
